- I feel like I don't have an immune system. I'm always sick. All of June I basically had an awful cold. In August I got the flu. Now I have that lovely cold again. I have been living on this:
practicing my photography skills... oh my, I'm a dork and it's okay.
- I'm going to Maui next week. I am pretty spoiled rotten, you don't need to remind me. Landon has never been to Hawaii and this will be my fourth time (big island once and Oahu twice).
I was a real looker in middle school...HA!!!
I really do love Hawaii.
I am going for a week with my "other family" and I'm kind of excited but mostly I get a sick feeling in my stomach thinking about leaving Landon. I know, I'm a wimp. My sister in law and nieces are without their husband/dad for MONTHS at a time and I can't even do a week?! I think I'm broken. I'm not trying to complain, it's just how I feel. I heard a quote on pinterest that said "how lucky am I to have someone that makes saying goodbye so hard." That's the attitude I've been trying to have... I should be grateful that I am married to my best friend that I hate being away from. I'm very lucky.
- Last year Landon started volunteering at Hillsboro High School as a water polo coach and he's doing it again this year. Such a cutie pie. He's SO good at teaching/coaching and that's not a compliment I give freely. I'm actually pretty picky when it comes to being a "good" teacher. Today I went to practice with him to watch... boy is he CUTE! I just love seeing him interact with the "kids" and getting them excited and motivated. They were giving him such attitude at some points, but he handled it so well. It was a proud wifey moment.
- I have been going to physical therapy for a few weeks for my grandma hip (read about it here). Two years ago I was training for a half marathon and did something to it and it's never healed. Well lately it's even been hurting on our nightly walks so I decided to do something about it... Which leads me to my next bullet point...
- I don't trust doctors. This past year I've had so many experiences where the doctors say "I don't know." Honestly, I don't blame them. It's not an exact science but what is the point of even going to the doctor if all they're going to say is I don't know? Or here take this pill it might help your hiatal hernia but it's not going to solve the problem (poor Landon got an endoscopy last week, turns out he does have a hernia and by the way the pills do NOT help). Or try physical therapy for six weeks, we don't have any clue what's wrong with your hip. Or better yet, sitting in the emergency room watching your husband going through the most traumatic experience and having the ER surgeon say, "I'm not exactly sure what to do about this..." yeah that's comforting to hear! Ugh, sorry for the rant. It's been quite the year with hospitals and doctors and sickness and pain and I just wish someone had answers. Nothing against doctors, I know they are doing their best but it's really hard to hear "I don't know."
- Landon is amazing and built a CNC router. If you don't know what that is, don't worry I didn't either. It's basically a tool that you can use to carve out anything. It does it for you!
You design it on the computer:
Then it cuts it out:
this is how the tool is connected to the computer.
Then you have a pretty dagger board for the boat. Shazaam!
That boy never ceases to amaze me!! As my brother put it on the phone tonight, "his side projects make my life look like a joke." (or something along those lines. Love ya Tim!) But seriously, how cool is Landon?
- If you're friends with me on facebook then you already saw this picture of our "food storage." We sure got a lot of funny looks at Costco with our cart of Reese's Puffs :) but seriously, it's SO cheap there and they don't stock it regularly.... so we didn't have any other choice! My mom is so proud.
So there you have it... that's life for us lately. Nothing too exciting, but I wouldn't have it any other way.
Cute post Hannah. I miss you guys!
