Our sweet little Teddy Jack is THREE months old. How?!?! One quarter of the year already? It is just heartbreaking! He is just getting SO big. We are all obsessed with him and he is just getting cuter and cuter every day! He is such a happy baby and loves to talk and tell us all kinds of stories. It is really easy to get him to smile and his smiles are just so big and the cutest ever! He's just a really calm, sweet baby.
His second month was a pretty big one, with his surgery (that I blogged all about here). So, I'm not really going to talk about that for his monthly update because it's definitely been talked about enough. :) We are just so proud of our little cranio warrior! He's seriously the bravest, strongest, sweetest boy!
my 3 year old and my 3 month old :)
So let's dive into some other highlights from Teddy's second month...
-Teddy got his helmet on February 25th and I was having such anxiety about how he would do. I've heard that the first appointment getting it all fitted and adjusted can be really hard, but he seriously hardly cried. That first day we had to do 1 hour on, 1 hour off and then gradually increased the time he was wearing it. The hardest part was taking it on and off, but by the second day he didn't even mind that. It doesn't look comfortable to me at ALL but he doesn't seem to mind it. He has had two overnights with it, and he does seem a little restless but he's still sleeping through the night. I think it will be better when we go to get it adjusted on Monday because sometimes it covers his eyes. Anyway, we are soooooooo proud of him! He's seriously just been such a champ with everything and I can't believe how brave he is! Starting today he will be wearing it for 23 hours day, so that 1 hour without his helmet will be spent getting a quick bath and then snuggling his cute head!!!!
First nap in his helmet! It only lasted 25 minutes haha
First overnight. Poor little guy!!! :(
-At Teddy's 2 month appointment he was only 10 lbs 12 oz (30%) and 22 inches long (21%). He's just a tiny little guy and a whole two pounds less than Charlie was at his same age! I weighed him last night just on our scale and he was 11 lbs 9 oz so he's gained about a pound in a month, and still weighs less than Charlie did at 2 months haha!
This comparison photo kills me! I love my boys!!
-Teddy went ice skating for the first time on February 1st. Well, he slept in the stroller while we pushed him around on the ice. :) I was just planning on watching Landon and Charlie ice skate but they told me that strollers are allowed on the ice so it became a family event. It was sooo much fun! Charlie actually did surprisingly well and was pushing his little cart around by himself at some points. He preferred one of us to "help" him, but was totally capable of doing it on his own. Teddy did great and just slept the whole time. :)
-Teddy is Mr. Drooly and loves to blow bubbles. You have to be careful when you're holding him over your shoulder because you'll end up with a huge wet spot on your shirt if you don't have a burp cloth. Sweet baby!
-Teddy is the best night time sleeper! He sleeps from about 10pm-8am every night without waking! Last week I decided to cut out his midnight feeding to see if he could still sleep until 8am without that feeding and he did AWESOME. I just can't believe it! Now Landon and I are kid free from 10pm until we go to bed around midnight which feels so weird! I haven't moved Teddy to his room for the night yet but he does sleep in his crib for nap time. Speaking of naps, he isn't the best napper. He sometimes will only sleep for 30 minutes and other times he sleeps for closer to two hours but I have to go in multiple times to give him his binky. I obviously would rather him sleep better at night than during the day, so I can't really complain too much! :)
-Teddy is Mr. Chatty! He LOOOOVES to talk. He will seriously sit and talk to you and tell you all kinds of stories for an hour! He definitely loves his people! Whenever I pull my phone out to take a video, he gets distracted by that and then doesn't talk nearly as much so it's hard to catch it on video. These pictures show his face when he's saying "oooh" which is his favorite sound for sure. He also talks the most for Landon, which is pretty cute. :)
-Teddy has recently discovered putting his fist into his mouth and it's the cutest thing ever to hear him smacking away on his little hand. I put a side by side of when Teddy found his fist and when Charlie did. Can you tell who's who?
-Since Teddy can't really play with toys yet, we like to put him in the bouncer and dangle toys above him to grab or just to look at. Charlie thinks it's so fun that he can "play" with Teddy more now. Teddy is also a huge fan of his play mat. He will smack those toys over and over and sometimes even grabs them. A few days ago he even figured out how to get some toys in his mouth. Clever boy!
-Teddy is still as snuggly as ever! We've been putting him down for naps in his crib this month, which is a bummer because he would nap so much better if I could just hold him all the time. I would LOVE to snuggle him all day but of course that's just not physically possible. :(
-Teddy LOVES to read books. He will just stare at the pictures with such intensity and it's the cutest thing. Charlie loves to read books to him but doesn't hold the pictures up quite long enough for Teddy to get a good look haha.
-Teddy and Charlie already have such a special and sweet relationship. Charlie is in LOVE with Teddy. Last night at dinner he said, "mom I just want Teddy to stay tiny!" in the saddest little voice. I'm totally with ya on that one bud! Teddy also really loves Charlie. He will just sit in his bouncer and watch Charlie play (which is usually pretty intense and entertaining haha). A lot of people ask me how Charlie handled everything with Teddy's surgery. When I first told him about it he said, "Teddy is going to be so brave!" and was pretty concerned. Sweet boy! When we got home from the hospital and he saw his incisions he literally burst out laughing. It was awesome! :)
-We celebrated Teddy's very first Valentine's Day! He looked soooo cute in his little overalls and was hamming it up for our little photo shoot. Gosh, isn't he just so handsome?!
-We left Teddy for the first time the day after Valentine's Day to go on a date. Grandpa and Grandma enjoyed the snuggles and we sure missed our boys! But, it was really nice to get some time just Landon and me. It's been a crazy few months, that's for darn sure!
-On February 22 Teddy giggled for the first time! It was short, but totally a full-on giggle. I wasn't recording but kind of got him to giggle again a minute later when I got my phone out. He is just the sweetest, happiest little guy! I'm also so happy that I was able to get his first giggle because Landon got Charlie's. Landon was able to get Teddy to giggle again yesterday but so far it hasn't happened very much.
-Yesterday my cute in-laws closed on their brand new home (I loved being their realtor--thanks again you guys!!!) so I brought the boys over to check it out. Charlie was having a blast running around each room (literally running in circles). We are so happy that they live so close!!!
And a million other random pictures and videos, because he's just too cute.
It was finally warm enough to uncover him for our walk. He was not impressed haha
I woke up with a cough and a fever on the Saturday after his surgery. I was so scared he was going to get sick!
Theodore, we are all obsessed with you! You are the cutest, sweetest baby EVER and we love you so much!!!!
