Transformation

I'd like to introduce you to someone I like to call "The New and Improved Hannah." Seriously you guys, I am a changed woman! Some of you may know me as a picky eater. Let's just say multiple people have nick-named me "peanut butter girl" because I have been known to eat peanut butter sandwiches while everyone else is eating normal food. Some of you may also know me as someone who does not have a crafty bone in her body and absolutely HATES to sew.

Well here's some proof that I am going through some major transformations. This is a BIG deal folks!!!

Exhibit A: I ate LOBSTER tail and steak that was pink. Oh, and I'm obsessed with potatoes now. The only potato I would touch 6 months ago was a french fry!

Landon made me this fancy dinner. He's adorable.

Exhibit B: I made enchiladas with homemade red sauce. And there were chopped onions and tomatoes involved. And... I didn't even gag!

Exhibit C: I made these curtains for our living room. All by myself (kinda... I had to call my mother-in-law every 10 minutes...but still!)

I'm thinking of doing a separate blog post on how to make these curtains because it really is SO easy and it makes such a difference. Our living room is SO cute now and all I want to do is stare at my curtains. It's ridiculous how obsessed I am.

I can't take all the credit for my transformation. I mean, yes I am obviously awesome (haha!) but really I am so grateful to have Landon who makes me want to be a better person. He encourages me and believes that I can do things that I never thought I could do. I am ALWAYS scared to try new things, but not so much anymore. Bring it on!

At this rate, I may become the next Martha Stewart.... watch out world!!!!

Happy Valentine’s Day to my Forever Valentine!

Every morning I have to wake up and leave for work before Landon. I hate that we don’t get to wake up together during the week. Like REALLY hate it. So to solve this problem I wake up 30 minutes before I need to, get ready for the day, and then get back in bed to snuggle for 30 minutes. Then I kiss Landon goodbye, tuck him back into bed, and head on my way to work. Well this morning after snuggling, I went downstairs and saw this on our kitchen counter:

So stinkin adorable I can’t even STAND it. Only Landon knows me well enough that Reese’s eggs in the shape of a heart and white cheddar cheese popcorn means WAY more to me than a bouquet of flowers :) I immediately broke into tears, ran upstairs, jumped on my sleeping Landon, and showered him with kisses.

Being married to your best friend is the absolute best feeling in the whole world. And its little moments like this that make life so wonderful. And do you know what? It just keeps.getting.better.

What a Perfect Day Looks Like To Us:

Co-Pilot to Pilot?

Landon always tries to get me to fly the airplane... and the most I've ever done is kind of turn it. Like just a teeny bit. It.freaks.me.out.

Well on Saturday I flew--2 take offs and 2 landings! Can you believe it?! I was only controlling the yoke, not the throttle or rudder, but STILL. This is a big deal folks. I was shaking the whole time, but Landon kept telling me how pretty I looked flying the airplane :)

I guess I have to agree that I look pretty... PRETTY NERVOUS!

So how did this happen? Two words--PEER PRESSURE.

Our neighbors Grace and Forest invited us to go to lunch with them on Saturday and then asked how we felt about small airplanes. NO WAY! They are BOTH pilots too. I could hardly believe it! Forest works at Intel, rides a motorcycle, is passionate about flying, and loves to build things. He is literally Landon's twin. It is SO crazy.

So yesterday we flew down to Albany to get Chinese food (who does that?!) and while eating they asked if I ever fly the airplane. Of course I don't! Well Forest is an instructor and somehow they convinced me to fly to a nearby airport! Forest was a great teacher and everyone just kept telling me how "great" I was doing, even though I felt like I was going to puke!

Now Landon is all excited because he really wants me to get my license. We'll see about that...

But we really had such a fun time with Grace and Forest! They're also LDS and in our ward, so it's really great to already have some new friends that we have A LOT in common with!

The Tale of a 55" Flat Screen

Let me just say... Landon and I sure have our priorities straight. We don't have any furniture for our front room, we don't have a dining room table, but last weekend we got a huge flat screen, surround sound, and a blu ray player. Just a little backwards, but it's okay. We love it!

But that's not what this post is about. The funny part of this story is how Landon drives a tiny 2 door car and we managed to fit the gargantuan t.v. inside of it.

When you're looking at all the tv's in the store, they really don't seem that big compared to the 70" monsters sitting right next to them, but as we wheeled ours out of the store and into the parking lot, I told Landon there is NO WAY we are getting that thing to fit in our car!

After about 15 minutes... he proved me wrong. We had to lay both the seats completely back, which left no room for me to have a place to sit...so I had to lay down on my seat with the tv over me. Mom--don't worry, I was still wearing my seat belt!

We were basically laughing all night at the fact that we really got that thing in and out of our car. I love silly memories like this and we are definitely enjoying our "home theater"! So much fun.

Landon's Helicopter

Landon is pretty proud of his first helicopter flight outside and wanted everyone to see :)

He read last night that over 50% of helicopters are crashed in their first few seconds/minutes of flight, so I guess you could say Landon's a pretty big deal :)

He's so cute!

Oh, and he hates taking pictures, but he must have been in a good mood after such a successful first flight that I was able to get this :)
