Suzette and Jason's Visit.

Oh man, where to even start? We had SO much fun with Landon's mom and her husband Jason. The week definitely went by WAY too fast. The only bad thing about their visit was having to say bye. It is always so overwhelming and awful.

On Saturday we took them to the Tillamook Cheese Factory and the beach. Landon and Suzette are both obsessed with chocolate and cheese, in that order (I'm the exact opposite, cheese first and then chocolate) so the cheese factory was basically heaven!

We went through the sample line three times! Mmm! All four of us liked the extra sharp aged white cheddar the best. Holy moly. Sooo good! 

And of course, we got some Tillamook ice-cream. It is the creamiest, yummiest ice-cream in existence. I swear. 

After gorging ourselves, we headed to the beach (Oceanside to be exact). I am always amazed at how beautiful the Oregon coast is, it literally takes my breath away! The forest and cliffs and huge rocks in the water... Sooo beautiful! 

It was really windy, but we weren't as cold as the pictures make it seem. The waves were crazy huge--I could have sat there all day just watching.

We went through this tunnel/cave thing to cross to the other side of the beach and sat on a log throwing rocks into the water. Suzette even found a heart shaped rock!

On Sunday we woke up to a lot of RAIN, which was a huge bummer because it was our sailing day. But in Oregon, you can't let the rain stop you...so off to the boat we went! 

It was Suzette and Jason's first time sailing and they both LOVED it. Yay! We love taking people sailing, especially when they appreciate how amazing it is!

Suzette loves her kids so much, so as we were sitting up front on the bow of the boat she started talking about how proud she was of Landon and of course started crying. Her love for Landon is just so sweet! 

We got SO lucky with the weather. Because it was a rainy/stormy day, we had AWESOME wind and plowed through the river. It was amazing! And guess what? It didn't rain on us as we sailed up the river to our anchoring spot. It was a real-life miracle. Pretty much as soon as we anchored the rain came down in buckets! So we cozied down inside the boat and had some yummy Costco hot dogs for lunch :)

On the way back to our dock, it started raining a little bit, but nothing too crazy. We seriously couldn't believe how lucky we got with the rain. It isn't a big deal for Landon and I to sail in the rain because we have the clothes for it, but we didn't want Suzette and Jason to get soaked and be freezing and miserable. We wanted their first experience with sailing to be perfect, and it really was! They even got to feel some pretty intense healing (when the boat tips over!) 

After sailing we went to Kalama, WA and spent time with Landon's uncle Rob (Suzette's brother) and his family. We love them!

During the week, Suzette Jason went to Kennewick, WA to visit Suzette's mom. We really missed them! On Wednesday night we took them to downtown Portland for some fun people watching (there are so many interesting people in Portland!!) and a walk along the waterfront. Our cute boys came too :)

Speaking of the boys, they love their Nini (Suzette)! She is NOT a dog person. At all! But holy cow, she loves our dogs! She let them climb all over her, cuddle on her lap, and they got spoiled rotten! They came for a car ride with us and got a little warm, so they were panting. Next thing I know Suzette is pouring water into her hand and letting the dogs lap it up! I couldn't stop laughing! If you know Suzette, then you probably don't even believe me but it really happened! They sure love Nini!!! 

Thursday was our last day with them, so I came down with Enzo and we spent the morning together. We picked Landon up from work and went to Panera for lunch. I was so happy I got to spend some time with them during the day! After work we had dinner and celebrated Suzette's birthday eve! We played Scattegories and had some Tillamook ice-cream (our freezer is stocked!!)

We seriously had the best time and love Suzette and Jason so much! Thank you SOOOO much for coming to visit and please come back soon (preferably for GOOD! No more goodbyes please.)

P.S. HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUZETTE!!! (Today is her actual birthday :) Yay!
