Government Island.

It's weekends like this that make me feel alive. There's just something about spending a weekend away on our boat, enjoying this beautiful world with my little family that fills my soul. I am one lucky (and sunburned!) girl.

Before we bought Viking, we were part of a sailing club and met a lot of really awesome people. Even though we aren't in the club anymore, they still invite us along to events. So this weekend they organized a sailing cruise to Government Island. It is one of our favorite places to go because the docks are really nice, there's a potty, and a pretty beach.

Can you spot Henry? They basically disappeared in the tall grass and gave their mama a heart attack once or twice.

We left on Saturday, and even though there was basically no wind, it is still my favorite thing to be out on the water. (Get ready for a million pictures of the boys. I'm sorry but they are just way too cute in their life jackets. Holy moly!)

Henry's tongue is pretty much the cutest thing in the world.

Their life jackets have handles so you can grab them easily if they fall in the water. It's also fun to just carry them around :)

see? :)

We slowly, but surely made our way up the river to the island and of course as soon as we docked the wind picked up. We're just lucky like that ;)

There were four other boats that came and we spent the evening chilling on the docks. It was really fun to give people a "tour" of our boat. Plus, we love the people from the club so it was really nice to catch up and just relax. Our boys were also a big hit with everyone!

The sunset was unbelievable--Landon and I went on a long walk along the beach which was pretty romantical ;)

We stayed up late talking around a fire on the beach and then hunkered down for the night on our boat. Landon and I both slept like babies--we are getting more and more comfortable with our boat I think. The rest of the day was spent sitting on the docks just eating, chatting, and soaking up the sunshine.

On the way back to our dock we actually got to sail because there was WIND. It couldn't have been a more perfect or relaxing weekend. We sure love our boat and the quality time we spend together on her. Life is good!

  1. Okay, this adventure looks so much fun!! What a beautiful sunset! And those doggie life jackets are the cutest things I have ever ever seen! I love that they have a handle, like a little doggie purse. Haha! And Hannah! Your hair is so cute!! You look awesome. :)
