Oh man, this was by far my favorite Christmas to date. Charlie was SO cute all season long talking about Santa, singing Rudolph and Frosty, and he just loved all the lights and decorations. He's at a really fun age right now!
Charlie was so excited to have a Christmas tree in his house! He really loved decorating it and putting the star on top too :)
We had a lot of fun Christmas activities throughout the month, including attempting to see Santa a few times (he wouldn't go NEAR him!), making gingerbread houses, and seeing the lights at temple square. We also had Daren, Liliana, and MJ staying with us and we loved having them here!
We made that gingerbread from scratch and I'm not exaggerating when I say that from start to finish we easily spent 10 hours + on those houses!! Daren and Liliana's was SOOO cool with stained glass windows (made from melted gummy bears). MJ and I made a Hawaiian house complete with gummy sharks in the water. Landon only cared about the "architecture" on his house so Charlie and I just threw some random decor on it haha.
For Christmas Eve Eve we did our tradition of going to see a late movie (this time we didn't do too late) and then we ate at IHOP. Charlie actually sat through ALL of Wreck it Ralph and was such a good boy. It was his first time actually sitting through a movie! Whenever he would hear another kid talking he would yell, "FRIEND!" haha!
Charlie loved that Nana and Pops came with us too!
On Christmas Eve we hit the slopes again, but this time with Grandpa! Charlie was so excited to go skiing with Daddy and Grandpa. :)
That night we got pizza and drove around to see Christmas lights. Right before bed, Charlie was really excited to leave cookies and milk for Santa... and per tradition he had to sneak a few bites.
On Christmas morning Charlie didn't quite know what was going on. When he came down the stairs he was a little shy and hesitant but once he figured out what was going on he was so excited. We ate a big breakfast (I even made homemade cinnamon rolls!) and of course had our British crackers and wore our crowns. After breakfast we spent awhile opening presents. Charlie's favorites were his PJ masks toy from Nini and Papa, his tool bench from Santa, Woody and Buzz, and then of course his very own red Corvette from Grandpa and Grandma!
Then we took naps and went over to Tim and Ang's for Miller Family Christmas. Ang always has it decorated so cute and had fun games planned for the kids (and adults) downstairs. Charlie was ADORABLE and loved shooting the nerf gun at the Grinch balloons, dropping candy canes on a string, and putting the snowman together (by the way, I won that competition and did it in 18 seconds!)
It was just a perfect day and my heart was so full and happy! I never want to forget days like this and am so grateful for my family! Merry Christmas!
