So most people don't know the REAL Landon. The sweetheart. The one who saves a baby quail egg.

Meet Spotty.


Here's the story.... Yesterday my cute Landon noticed a mommy and daddy quail working on a nest right outside our house. He was SO excited that they chose our yard for their nest and that we would have baby quail running around in a few weeks! So about every 10 minutes, Landon opened the front door to check on them. It was actually pretty cute how the mommy and daddy work as a team--while one is working on building the nest, the other is on guard (and they take turns).

But last night we had a HUGE wind storm/snow storm and when we woke up this morning, the quail were gone. Landon checked the nest...and that's when he met Spotty. His mommy and daddy abandoned him, but Landon could not stand to let the egg sit outside in the cold (and possibly die)....so this is what I come home to:





Yep. Landon is incubating Spotty the egg and keeping him at a temperature of 100 degrees Fahrenheit (with my heating pad and keeping track of the temperature with the oven thermometer).

Basically Landon is my favorite person in the whole world!!!!!!!! He is the biggest sweetie and is the cutest little mommy to Spotty.
