Charlie Dean: 4 Months Old.

Oh my heart. I started crying before I could even type out words... Charlie Dean, you are so loved! We can't believe you are FOUR months old!

Where has the time gone? 1/3 of a year?! There's no way. We are so proud of you and seriously can't get enough of you. You are such an angel baby! You are our WHOLE world and we don't know how we ever survived without you! You bring us more joy than you will ever know, baby boy.

It's pretty crazy because one year ago tomorrow was the day we found out I was pregnant with Charlie. It was one month after losing our first baby and we were so hesitant to get excited because we weren't sure if the pregnancy test was just picking up leftover hcg... but I remember very clearly saying a prayer and praying that my baby would be safe. During that prayer I felt so overwhelmed with comfort and peace. I knew right then that I really was pregnant. What a life changing day that was for us and we couldn't be more grateful for our miracle baby!

Charlie has the sweetest personality and is such a good baby! He sleeps consistently from 10:30-8:00 am! He's seriously a DREAM sleeper. His naps during the day are getting a little more consistent and we are working on getting on a schedule. He usually takes a nap around 9, 11, and 3 with a cat nap at night.

He pukes SO much. Like more than any baby I've ever seen. It's SO sad and he's on medicine, but I don't think it's helping much. Along with the spit up, he gets hiccups every day, which we were told is linked to the reflux. We are planning on talking to the doctor on Monday to see what other options there are... poor baby!

Puke all over his shirt and his play mat. At least once a day I have to clean our couch or completely change my outfit because I'm soaked. Poor little Char!

His all time favorite thing is just hanging out with mom and dad and telling us stories. Lately he has been spitting everywhere when he talks to us because he's learned to blow raspberries. It is SO cute! He smiles so big, hasn't giggled yet!

Charlie has always been super wiggly (even in my belly--I called him my ninja baby!) Well the past week he has been totally on the move. Not crawling or anything crazy, but I'll lay him down on his play mat and he'll be completely facing the other direction within five minutes! It's also hard changing his diaper and giving him baths now because he is learning to push up on his legs and arch his back and just always moving! I think this is a sign of things to come... he's a BUSY boy!

Here are some (hahaha!) pictures and highlights from Charlie's 3rd month. He is growing and changing so much every day!

-On July 24 Charlie and Landon slept in until 10 am! I seriously couldn't believe it. I woke up at 8:30, which was the first time in MONTHS that I woke up on my own.

-That same day Charlie rode in his stroller like a big boy and also played in his cousin's jumper for the first time. Of course the next day I had to go and buy the exact same one :)

-Charlie met my friend Trina and her son Liam! We also had lunch with Toni and Grant and had a BBQ! I wish I had taken more pictures, but it's so fun to do things with these girls that I've known since I was 5! Now our kids get to grow up together! We also had lunch with my good friends from childhood, Kara and Erica, and their boys too. But of course I didn't get a picture. Next time!

-On July 25 Charlie started grabbing toys and I just started bawling! I'm soooo going to be that mom who is like hysterical at the soccer game when her son kicks the ball... seriously though I was just SO proud of my little boy! He's so smart! :)

-On July 26 Charlie slept in his own room for the first time overnight. Speaking of hysterical... I may or may not have cried myself to sleep. It just felt SO weird having him so far away from me! I did not love it, but of course Charlie did great! We decided to move him in there because Landon's alarm was waking him up in the morning.

-Charlie went to his first wedding! My little brother Joey married his sweetheart Lorena. They are SO cute. Charlie was a rockstar all day and on his best behavior. I always get worried when we aren't home, but he was a champ. He's seriously the best. We are so happy for Joey and Lorena!

I totally stole his photographer for a second to have him take a few pictures of us. These ones were taken on Suzette's phone, but I can't wait to see the real ones!

-Charlie finally met his Aunt Tanya. She loves Charlie so much and came all the way from Canada to meet him! Okay, okay... she came for Joey's wedding.... but really it was for Charlie ;) We love you Tanya!

-Charlie practiced "sailing" on the Hobie while Landon had it set up in front of our house to get some work done. I had to snap a picture because it was so cute and I just can't really handle thinking about all the adventures these two are going to have together!

-On August 1st Charlie decided he was going to roll over during tummy time! You might remember he rolled over for the first time around 4 weeks and then again at 5 weeks, but this time it's definitely more intentional. He rolled over like 7 times that day, but he doesn't do it every time. He also rolled from his back onto his belly for the first time TODAY!

He was on his back and rolled onto his belly!!!! 

I tried to catch it on camera and of course he did it as soon as I stopped recording!

This was yesterday, he was like 90% of the way there

-We played racquetball with Nini and Papa. I was dying over Landon's hair and he's probably going to kill me for posting this video. Suzette almost peed her pants when she saw and said he looked like a unicorn. Haha!

-Charlie LOVES sucking on everything, especially his fists. Sometimes he'll suck on his fingers but it's usually his entire fist. He also likes to suck on our fingers. But anytime you try to give his own thumb, he doesn't want it. Well on August 7th, he found his thumb and LOVES it. It's so great because he can sooth himself now without a binky! Also, can we just remember that one time when he was less than an hour old and he was sucking his thumb?! Oh man, I can't handle him.

-We went to Silver Lake with my parents, Joey, Lorena, Lorena's mom, Kate, and Jolene. I've been DYING to go up there all summer and it was so much fun. It's so beautiful up there and I think Charlie enjoyed looking around and being outside. I can't really handle him in his sunglasses!

-On August 9 Dawsen surprised us! He drove from Texas to Colorado to go camping with a friend and then surprised us by driving to Utah! We are so happy he came to visit and he is just WAY too cute with Charlie.

-Charlie loves to play and sing songs with mom and dad. He likes to do Wheels on the Bus with Mom (especially the part about the people going up and down because I move him up and down) and Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes with Dad.

-Charlie went to his cousin Kit Kat's first birthday and had so much fun. He got his first pair of Mickey ears!

-I have about a million pictures of Charlie sleeping because he's just so sweet. 

-Charlie has gotten kind of whiney and it just cracks me up. He'll scream at me, which is different than his regular cry and we just think it's too funny! He's also a lot like his mama and can go from 0 to 60. You can be playing with him and he'll be smiley and happy and then out of nowhere he will just start screaming. No warning! He just has a lot of feelings :)

-Charlie's favorite toys are his ball, his jumper, his play mat, and books (especially The Very Hungry Caterpillar and his Dada book). He loves to have staring contests with the bird and flower on his jumper! Also, he's kind of outgrown his mamaroo and doesn't love it anymore which is so sad to me!

-Charlie had his first picnic in Park City!

We can't tell what color his eyes are going to be. Blue? Green? 

Charlie Dean, you are our sunshine and we love you SO much! We love watching you learn and grow and change every day. You're getting way too big and it breaks mama's heart.. but I'm just trying to soak in every minute! Thank you for giving our life so much purpose and meaning. You are EVERYTHING.
