Utah for 36 Hours

Last weekend was truly perfect. The only thing wrong with it was how SHORT it was and how FAST it went by. My mom had 7 out of 9 of her kids there to celebrate her birthday, which is actually a huge deal and I can't remember the last time that there were so many of us together. In her own words, "it was the best birthday ever!"

I'll let the pictures do {most} of the talking

we got to land at the Boise International Airport. It was awesome getting to taxi with the big guys :)

Oh hello Great Salt Lake!

After a 6 hour flight we made it to Provo!

we let the puppies sleep in our bed that night and took them on a walk first thing Saturday morning. We sure missed these cute pups.

Landon especially missed Toby

I especially missed Millie

Landon and I picked up Emma from the airport and then Mary, Emma, and I made this collage for my my mom's birthday

What's a trip to Utah without a trip to CAFE RIO? Best food on the planet no battle.

Then we drove up the canyon to meet up with the rest of the fam for mom's big party!

My beautiful sisters minus Ali :(

Since when did my baby niece think it's okay to grow up? Isn't she beautiful!

So good to see the Jeremy Miller family who just moved to UT from VA

Little Zoey was obsessed with baby Jolene :) so cute!

My newest niece, Jolene. I could've held her all night!

love my cutie parents

She is adorable

Even my cute Jenna came to see me real quick

Sunday morning they took us to the airport and we had to say bye :(

It was a much needed trip! I have been missing my family a lot lately and I really wanted to meet my new niece. I'm so glad I married an adventurous pilot :)

Happy Birthday Mama!

Today is my cute Mama's birthday!

She is such an example to me of what it really means to be selfless and Christ-like. Her whole life has been one giant act of charity! She has raised nine children and sacrificed everything for us, she has had foster children, and she did daycare out of her home for 10+ years! Talk about a wonder woman! I have no idea how she did it, and I admire her for her ability to love. She is seriously the sweetest person you will ever meet. She has always gone out of her way to make me feel special and loved--from surprise birthday parties, to buying me TONS of clothes, to taking me on countless vacations, and even the small things like sending me cute emails throughout the day. She is so giving and never asks for anything in return. Her family and their needs come WAY before her own. There is no other way to describe her than Christ-like. Not to mention, she is such a light and it's hard not to smile and laugh when she's around. She has THE funniest sense of humor.

Another way my mom is a huge example to me is her childlike faith and I owe my own faith to her. Growing up in England, her parents didn't go to church but she just knew that she should go. At the young age of EIGHT she was going to church on her own! My mom went to a lot of different churches, but none of them felt right. She was 15 when she met with the missionaries of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. My mom has always been SO in tune with the Holy Ghost and from the start she knew our church just felt right. All of her doubts and questions about the other churches were answered. She continued to learn more about the gospel and knew she needed to be baptized. Her dad was very opposed and ripped up the papers when my mom brought them home. Eventually, he agreed to the baptism because my mom didn't give up and her dad could see how much this church meant to her. Her childlike faith never faltered, even in the face of adversity. She stands for what she knows is right and has always been an example to me of faith. She has faced many difficulties and trials throughout her life, but her faith and dedication to Christ remains constant.

One more thing about my mom, her and my dad have been married for 40 years and are completely and madly in love. They are simply adorable! Her example of raising nine children but still keeping her relationship with her husband as a priority, has taught me what it really means to be a wife and mother.

I love my mom more than she'll ever know and feel so grateful and proud that I can call her my mother.

Happy Birthday Mama!

Family of Three

Landon and I really really want a puppy... the problem is, at our apartment there are absolutely no dogs allowed. So for now, we just look at pictures of yorkies online and daydream. Hopefully we get into a house sooner rather than later!

Well today at work, my friend Kimberly (who is a genius with computers) gave me a little preview of what our family of three will look like when we can finally get our little boy.

Don't we look adorable as a family of three?

P.S. Tomorrow we are flying to Utah! And no, not on delta or southwest... Landon is actually flying us out there. Yay for my own personal pilot! I can't wait to see my family, especially my new baby niece! So dang excited.

House Hunting

We've been house hunting for about a month now. So much fun! I think we'll be homeowners within the next few months folks! I never ever thought it would be possible this soon, but seriously houses and interest rates are ridiculously LOW. It's awesome.

Here are our top 2 choices at the moment:
This house is pretty much adorable. It's in a culdesac and across the street from a park. When we walked into the house, it just felt like home. The only problem with it is there's a train track right behind the house and a train comes 2-3 times a month. Uggh...

We saw this house the first time we went house hunting, and honestly I don't think any other house is even going to compare. If this baby is still on the market in January/February... it's OURS! I tell Landon almost every day that he's going to buy me this house. I just have a feeling... It's seriously perfect for us and I love every little thing about it!

I love looking at houses and picturing our future... Looking at the bedrooms and picturing a nursery or looking at the backyard and picturing a swingset and a sandbox. I love thinking of the family we are going to raise in that home.

But one step at a time right? The first thing we're doing when we are homeowners is buying a PUPPY! We love our apartment, but there are NO dogs allowed. So lame. We want a yorkie and already have a few names picked out :)

House hunting is so exciting!

Probably Not the Best Idea...

Well I'm an absolute mess at the moment. It all started by face-timing with my family. I don't know why I haven't done this before. It was seriously so awesome to see them, but as soon as we hung up the tears came. Then I started looking through some old pictures and now I'm completely sobbing.

Oh how I miss my cute family. So much it literally hurts. I really do forget how far away I am. I try not to think about it because when I do, I turn into a bawl baby. That's why it probably wasn't the best idea to look through all those pictures... :(

Here's to hoping the weather is good enough next weekend so we can fly to Utah...
